From June to September, the abode of clouds changes completely, every landscape comes alive making Meghalaya one of the most sought-after monsoon destinations in India. Waterfalls that barely trickled in summer now thunder off clifftops, the Khasi Hills disappear into rolling fog, and every stretch of road you drive looks like it belongs in a film. This is when Meghalaya feels the most alive — raw, rain-soaked, and impossibly beautiful in ways winter rarely shows.
This 6-day Meghalaya monsoon group trip from Guwahati covers four destinations: Shillong, the Scotland of the East; Cherrapunji (Sohra), one of the wettest places on Earth; Mawlynnong, Asia's cleanest village; and the untouched waterfall country of Jowai. Along the way you'll stand at Nohkalikai Falls, India's tallest plunge waterfall at 340 metres, catch all seven streams of Seven Sisters Falls in full monsoon force, walk the ancient Living Root Bridge through jungle in full bloom, and discover Krang Suri Falls when its blue-green water is at its most vivid.
