Treks in Ladakh

Imagine walking on a frozen river, surrounded by towering cliffs of ice and stone, while your breath turns into visible clouds in the crisp Ladakhi air.
Welcome to the Chadar Trek, one of the most exhilarating experiences in Ladakh. This trek is not for the faint-hearted, but for those who crave adventure and stories worth telling. The terrain is a frozen Zanskar River, and every step is a game of belief between the ice and your resolve. Nights are spent in cozy tents, with stories shared under a blanket of stars that feel close enough to touch. The camaraderie on this trek is unmatched, as you trek with fellow adventurers, encouraging each other through freezing temperatures and tricky passages. It’s a journey of endurance, friendship, and breathtaking beauty—where the rewards are far beyond just the view.

About This Collection
Ladakh has a lot of variety to offer when it comes to treks in Ladakh. Leh Ladakh being a high altitude region, if you are planning a trek in Ladakh you will have to keep a day or 2 additional for acclimatization.
As it takes a little time for the body to adjust to sudden changes in altitude. Chadar Trek in the winter month of January and February is the most visited trek in Ladakh. It is a trek on the frozen Zanskar river. Another great option in Ladakh is Stok Kangri which is a trekkable summit and stands at an altitude of more than 6000 mts and the best months to do so are June, July, and August.
Markha Valley trek in Ladakh is another great trek above 5000 mts and it passes through the Hemis National Park. Landscape in Ladakh is very different compared to other northern states, so the treks in Ladakh also have a very different trail and landscape to offer.
Most of the treks are multi-day and as the region is more of a cold desert the amount of fitness required is very different. Most of the treks in Ladakh are not recommended for beginners, and experience of other Himalayan treks in Himachal and Uttarakhand is required before you start trekking in Ladakh.
If you are planning a trek in Leh Ladakh in the coming days, do get in touch with the team and we will recommend you the treks possible and suitable to your needs.
